Dwight D. Eisenhower















Dwight D.Esienhower was born October 14,1890 in Denison, Texas. His nationality was just full American. He was the third of seven sons of David Jacob and Ida Elizabeth Stover Esienhower. Eisenhower married Mamie Geneva Doud of Boone, Iowa, on July 1,1916. His first son was Doud Dwight, born September 24,1917 who died of scarlet fever on January 2,1921.His second son was John Sheldon Doud, born on August 3,1922.







Dwight D. Eisenhower was a college-educated engineer but had trouble making a living and the family was poor. He graduated from Abilene High Schoool in 1909. After graduating he worked at Belle Springs Creamery, 1909-1911. He entered the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York on June 14,1911 and graduated June 12,1915. Retiring as brigadier general, he became an author, served as U.S. ambassador to Belgium from 1969 to 1971. Esienhower died at the age of 78 on March 28,1969.
