James Byron Dean was born in Feburary8,1931. He was a American film actor. Deans is mostly known for his most celebrated film, Rebel Without a Cause, in which he starred as a troubled Los Angeles teenager Jim Stark. With this film and also his other two, East of Eden and Giant he endured fame as a starring role. He also was the first actor to recieve a posthumous Academy Award Nomination for Best Actor and remains the only person to have two posthumous acting nominations. This wasn't the only thing he is remembered for also in 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Dean the 18th best male movie star on their AFI's 100 Years...100 stars list. Sadly he passed away at a young age but this cemented his legendary status. He died on September 30,1955.
